William is a lawyer and a PhD candidate in Law at the Université de Montréal and the
École doctorale de droit de la Sorbonne. His research, supported by the Social Sciences
and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), focuses on business law,
specifically the issues surrounding the securities sector. As a member of both the
Quebec and the Paris Bar, William pursued his graduate studies at the Université de
Montréal (under the supervision of Professor Julie Biron) and at the University of
Toronto (under the supervision of the Honourable Anita Anand). In addition to
practicing at a national law firm in Montreal, William has also had the opportunity to
work as a law clerk within the federal judiciary.
Holding a Bachelor of Education from McGill University, William has a strong interest in
pedagogy and possesses extensive teaching experience. The numerous awards and
scholarships he has received highlight the excellence of his academic journey and
testifies to his involvement in the legal community. As a scientific coordinator at the
Quebec Securities Law Observatory, William is also a researcher at the Institut de
recherche juridique de la Sorbonne (IRJS-Paris) and the Centre de droit des affaires et du
commerce international (CDACI-Montreal).
