Madeline Reid

Madeline Reid obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2017. She received a number of awards for academic excellence in the course of her legal studies, including the Law Society of British Columbia Gold Medal for highest cumulative GPA over the three-year J.D. program. During law school, she worked as a research assistant for Professor Gerry Ferguson and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society. Madeline clerked at the Court of Appeal for British Columbia during the 2017-2018 term and is currently articling with British Columbia's Ministry of Attorney General. After completing the LL.M. course at Cambridge, she will clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada for the 2020-2021 term.

Before law school, Madeline obtained a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from the University of Victoria. She received numerous scholarships for academic and musical achievement as an undergraduate student. She has played with the Victoria Symphony, Orford Academy Orchestra, University of Victoria Orchestra, Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra, and other chamber and orchestral ensembles.
